Thats down 48% from last weekend, which is another solid hold, and takes the film to the brink of 150 million at the domestic box office—its expected to have around 148 million by close of business. The studio is baking in a big 71% drop today thanks to competition with the Super Bowl, so it may end up doing just a little better than predicted. More... January 31st, 2020 It is Super Bowl weekend, which is one of the biggest media events of the year. Even people who have no interest in the NFL tend to at least pay attention to the game. Because of that, no studio wants to release a typical film this time of year and instead focus on counter-programming, usually female-led counter-programming. Neither The Rhythm Section nor Gretel and Hansel are expected to challenge Bad Boys for Life for first place, but the pair could be in a close race with each other. This weekend last year, no movie earned 10 million or more, while Miss Bala opened with less than 10 million. 2020 should end the month on a huge winning note. January 26th, 2020 Bad Boys for Life will remain in first place on the weekend chart with an estimated 34. 0 million, which is down just 46% from the films opening weekend. This amazing hold not only beat predictions by a significant margin, it helped the film blow past 100 million yesterday. Its running tally will sit at 120. 0 million at the end of the weekend, assuming the estimate holds. Internationally, the film held even better, earning 42 million on 12, 700 screens in 58 markets for a total of 95 million so far. This includes a 4. 7 million debut in Russia, as well as a 3. 5 million hold in the U. K. The film is already ahead of the franchise average, both domestically and globally, while it is rapidly approaching first place in both. At this rate, not only will there be yet another sequel, I could see a spin-off happening as well. January 25th, 2020 Bad Boys for Life remained in first place earning 8. 93 million on Friday, down 62% from its opening Friday. This is significantly better than anticipated and it means the film could fall less than 50% during the full weekend. Regardless, the film will reach 100 million domestically tonight, becoming the first film released in 2020 to get to that milestone. Obviously it wont be the last. January 23rd, 2020 It is a post-holiday weekend and the weekend before the Super Bowl. Needless to say, there are no prime releases coming out in theaters. The Gentlemen is the widest release of the week a should open in the top five, even if it doesnt compete for top spot. The Turning is a low-budget horror movie, and weve already had one of those struggle at the box office this year. Theres little hope this one will be better. Finally, theres The Last Full Measure, which is only opening nationwide, not even semi-wide. Its not even going to make the top ten, so we will talk about that film with the other limited releases. This leaves Bad Boys for Life as the only real contender for first place this weekend. The question is more about how far it falls from last weekend. As for this weekend last year, we were in a similar situation with the two new releases, The Kid Who Would Be King and Serenity, failing to make any real impact, leaving Glass in first place for the second weekend in a row. The Upside was the only other film to earn more than 10 million that weekend, while this weekend we will have four, perhaps even five films above 10 million. 2020 should walk away with an easy win. January 7th, 2020 2020 got off to a great start with The Grudge opening better than expected, while most of the holdovers also held strong. Granted, it is still a post-holiday weekend and the total box office did fall 28% from last weekend earning 142 million. However, this is 2. 4% higher than the first weekend of last year and thats a much more important figure. Its way too early for the year-to-date comparisons to matter, but 2020 did get off to a faster start than 2019 did and has a 7. 7. 17 million lead at 231 million to 215 million. Again, it is way too early to make any predictions, but any victory now will make it easier for 2020 to keep pace with last year during the inevitable slow times. That said, it is still one of the biggest hits released in 2019, both domestically and worldwide. The film had no major market openings this weekend, but it debuts in South Korea and the Philippines this coming weekend and that should help it hit 1 billion worldwide. January 4th, 2020 It looks like it is going to be a good weekend at the box office, as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is beating expectations at the box office, and it isnt the only film to do so. The latest in the Star Wars franchise earned an estimated 11. 0 million on Friday, putting it on pace for 37 million over the full weekend. The film needed about 31 million to remain on pace to hit 500 million domestically, so with this result, it is no longer a matter of if it will get there, but how fast it will get there. On the other hand, this is not enough to make a realistic run at The Lion King for second place on the 2019 domestic chart. January 3rd, 2020 The Grudge is the only new wide release, so that should have given it an advantage this weekend and its previews suggest that will be the case. The film managed 1. 8 million from previews on Thursday, which isnt that far behind the 2. 3 million Escape Room earned during its previews this time last year. Granted, its reviews are not going to be a selling point, but even so, the film has an excellent shot at topping my 10 million prediction by a huge margin. Unfortunately, it has almost no chance of matching last year s low-budget horror film, Escape Room. Fortunately, this years holdovers, led by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, will outpace last years holdovers giving 2020 its first win during the first weekend of the year. Finally, Dolittle is looking like a disaster with a really troubled production; however, a 100 million run isnt out of the question and if it can get there, it will at least save face. As for last January, Glass was the biggest hit of the month in terms of raw dollars, but The Upside was more impressive, as it is one the biggest hits in STX Entertainment s history. We need two of the three potential 100 million hits to reach that mark to keep pace with last year, but we also have one more weekend to get there. The Grudge hindi dubbed download. As someone with no experience with the original movies, I went with a friend to see it. I was excited because I liked the style of the trailer and obviously it's my first Grudge movie.
. it was not. good.
My main complaint with the movie is there is really no plot. We're immediately introduced to the idea that the "curse" follows whoever encounters it and doesn't leave them. Every person who encounters it brutally murders their family or close ones before killing themselves. We jump from 2004 to 2006 constantly throughout the movie, almost to the point that you may forget about the time jumps and it's overall pointless, unless it's to show time will never disrupt the curse? And then the child of the main character is creepily bland. This may have been intentional for a scene later in the movie where the main character suddenly decides the way to kill the Grudge is to set the house on fire? The Grudge appears as her son and asks her to stop because he is scared, and the mom realizes it's not him when she asks him what they do when they get scared (they close their eyes and count to five, which is established earlier in the movie. This scene was very rushed, nothing led up to it, no "research" or getting help from another person who dealt with it and somehow survived. I did like this part, however because the sudden change in direction and the false idea that fire was the Grudge's demise was suspicious but unpredictable to some of the people in the audience when the movie ends with the mom being taken. I think there were a lot of unanswered questions, whether you have knowledge of the prior movies or not. There were things missing that may have helped the pace of the movie that seemed to drag on at times. I personally did not enjoy it and think there was a lot of lost potential. Plus, the kid was pretty creepy to the point the audience would laugh whenever he spoke.

Look, i never saw the 2016 one, and i don't plan to, not because it full of women, but because the humor in it and the story doesn't meet my tastes. But I will say this, wasn't the 2016 a reboot? And this new one is a true sequel correct? So even if they state there hasn't been a ghost sighting in 30 years doesn't affect the 2016 movie at all because they are separate form one another.
