It's unlikely that the military didn't know of the creature's weakness. So to show why they didn't do anything to wipe these monsters out, is a good subplot. 3. How did the creatures came to existence and where did they come from. They could be extraterrestrial, hidden, or lab experiment. Either way, its nice to know about them. 4. With the weakness of the creatures exposed to the survivors, how are they planning to live their lives. Hunt them or go on surviving. Since they broadcasted a loud noise in first film, its likely that other survivors may come to help or rescue them.
